Microsoft Building

The Microsoft research centre was founded in 1998. The lab conducts research in topics like natural user interfaces, multimedia, data-intensive computing and online advertising. This building is one of the two towers that are part of the Zhongguancun headquarters. Since the Chinese Microsoft campus has an urban setting, the towers were made smaller: they have three-story clusters of office floors and are connected by a pedestrian bridge. Open workspaces line the edges of each floor to maximize daylighting. Our screens are used to filter this daylight in order to reduce glare.
