Šumi Centre Ljubljana

The Šumi Centre is a modern urban development in the centre of Ljubljana. The commercial and residential building is located in the heart of the densely populated centre of the Slovenian capital. It offers a view of Rožnik, a 391 metre high wooded hill.

The first plans for the building were drawn up in 1996 by the famous architect Boris Podrecca. It features large windows interspersed with concrete facade elements. Very subtle window shading had to be installed so as not to detract from the overall appearance of the building.

To provide thermal and visual comfort, our partner Soltec installed roller blinds with a minimalist aesthetic. Our pearl coloured Sergé 3% fabric provides protection from overheating while still allowing a good view of the beautiful surroundings.

The zip blinds on the external facades were technically challenging as they were integrated between the concrete wall of the building and the prefabricated cladding. Due to the varying distances between the walls and the cladding panels, Soltec had to manufacture each blind separately for each window.

The courtyard with grass and trees is surrounded by luxury apartments. The roller blinds on this side in Sergé 3% pearl white are guided by stainless steel cables. They are fixed directly to the aluminium façade and are used to shade the balconies.
